Spain’s PM tests positive for Covid-19

Madrid, Sep 25 (EFE).- Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sanchez said Sunday he had tested positive for Covid-19 and would have to suspend his agenda.

“This morning I tested positive for Covid-19,” the prime minister tweeted.

“I will continue to work, taking extreme precautions,” Sanchez added.

The prime minister was scheduled to attend an event in Barcelona with the president of the Socialists’ Party of Catalonia and former health minister Salvador Illa on Sunday.

He was also scheduled to attend an event at the Alzheimer’s foundation of the former socialist mayor of Barcelona, Pasqual Maragall, who suffers from the disease.

Sanchez took part in the United Nations General Assembly in New York last week in which some 150 world leaders participated. EFE
