Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara arrested in Venice on sexual assault charge

Venice, Italy, Sep 4 (EFE).- Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara was arrested in Venice over an alleged sexual assault that took place in France, Italian police sources told EFE on Monday.

The 22 year old was arrested on Saturday amid an active international arrest warrant linked to the alleged assault, the source added, without specifying when the crime was committed.

The actor will now be taken into custody pending decisions on the matter, according to Italian authorities.

The Venice Film Festival said on Sunday that the actor of Spanish Amazon Prime teen film franchise ‘My Fault’ was not on the lido for any of the festival’s events.

“Following the news articles which have been emerging on various websites, regarding the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara being arrested in Venice, the Biennale hereby clarifies that his presence in Venice was not linked to any events or productions related to the 80th Venice International Film Festival,” festival organizers wrote on social media.
