Thunberg to world leaders: ditch empty ‘blah, blah, blah’ climate promises

Rome, Sep 28 (EFE).- World leaders need to swap their “blah, blah, blah” empty promises for real action against the climate crisis, activist Greta Thunberg said at the Youth4Climate Summit in Milan on Tuesday.

“There is no planet B, there is no planet blah. Blah, blah, blah,” Thunberg told the crowd. “This is not about some expensive, politically correct, green act, bunny hugging, or blah, blah, blah.

“Build back better, blah, blah, blah. Green economy, blah, blah, blah,” she continued.

“This is all we hear from our so-called leaders, words that sound great but so far have led to no action.

“Of course we need constructive dialogue, but they have now had 30 years of blah, blah, blah and where has that led us?”

She added that the science of climate change “does not lie” and that global emissions continued to rise.

Some 400 youth activists from around the world were gathered for the summit in the Italian city.

Italy is one of the organizers of the upcoming United Nations climate summit COP26. EFE
