Ukraine estimates 17,000 Russian soldiers killed in war so far

Lviv, Ukraine, Mar 28 (EFE) .- The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Monday estimated that about 17,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Between Feb.24 and Mar.28, the Russian troops also lost 586 tanks 1,694 armored combat vehicles, 302 artillery systems, 95 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) and 54 air defense systems, the army posted on Facebook, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.

The Russians also lost 123 planes, 127 helicopters, 1,150 vehicles, seven ships, 73 fuel tankers, 66 unmanned aerial vehicles, 21 special equipment and four missile launchers.

The statement added that the data was constantly being updated and that the task has been complicated due to the high intensity of hostilities in the war.

On Friday last week, the General Staff of the Russian Army estimated that 1,351 Russian soldiers had been killed and 3,825 wounded since the beginning of the so-called special military operation by Moscow. EFE
