Spanish town of Chinchon primed for Wes Anderson’s latest feature

Madrid, Aug 23 (EFE).- The Spanish town of Chinchon is feeling the effects of Hollywood as preparation for Wes Anderson’s latest movie were underway in the picturesque town some 45 kilometers from Madrid.

Movie sets have popped up on the outskirts of the town although very little is known about the script of the American filmmaker’s unnamed project due to a series of confidentiality contracts.

It is set to feature stars including Tom Hanks, Scarlet Johanssen, Margot Robbie, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzma among others.

Actress Tilda Swinton, who will form part of the cast, revealed to Variety magazine that while the shooting will be on Spanish territory, the film will not be about Spain.

The director of the Grand Budapest Hotel and The Darjeeling Limited, who lives in France, has chosen Chinchon, home to 5,000 residents, for its landscapes, logistics and Spanish production team.

The location was used in Orson Welles’ film Chimes at Midnight.

It is unknown when the stars will arrive in Spain for filming. EFE
