The Office of External Relations Is Organizing a “Business Awareness Forum”

La Oficina de Relaciones Externas está organizando un “Foro de Concientización Empresarial”

MEMPHIS, TN (Office of External Relations) — The Office of External Relations is one of the newest components of the Memphis Police Department that uses Community Impact Officers (CIOs) to help address the needs of the community and develop strategies to help reduce crime in the city of Memphis.

One of its primary goals is to increase service quality and customer satisfaction, thereby supporting the operations of the Memphis Police Department, utilizing internal and external resources to better serve the citizens, and promoting public safety.

With the recent increase in “Smash & Grab” and other business robberies in the Memphis area, the Memphis Police Department has begun to hold community meetings with citizens.

“We will be hosting a ‘Business Awareness Forum.’ This forum will be geared toward educating business owners and their employees on business theft prevention tips and other ways to deter theft. Our intent is to provide prevention tips that employees can use as a technique to help combat business theft and other crimes,” the Memphis’ Office of External Relations stated in a press release.

The “Business Awareness Forum,” which will be in English but will have interpreters for the Hispanic community, is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at New Direction Church, located at 6120 Winchester Road.

You and your employees are cordially invited to attend. If you would like to discuss this matter further or have any questions, please contact the Office of External Relations at (901) 636-7539.
