More than 20 hospitalized after ship keels over at Edinburgh dockyard

Edinburgh, UK, Mar 22 (EFE).- At least 23 people were injured on Wednesday after a deep-sea vessel toppled over onto its side at a shipyard in Edinburgh.

NHS Lothian said 23 people needed hospital treatment following the “major incident” at the Imperial Dock in the district of Leith, north of the Scottish capital.

Eight people remained in hospital on Wednesday evening, the statement said.

The ship, a 3,000-ton, 76-meter research vessel named “Petrel,” capsized at an angle of about 45 degrees after it became dislodged from its holding on dry dock. EFE
