Over 110 new deaths raise Gaza war toll to 26,750

Jerusalem, Jan 30 (EFE).- Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip killed at least 114 people within the past day, escalating the war toll in the besieged enclave to 26,750, according to the health ministry’s report on Tuesday.

The ministry, under Hamas governance, reported that hospitals and emergency services have treated 250 wounded since Monday, bringing the total number of Gazans injured during the 116 days of the Israeli military offensive to 65,636.

Health ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said several victims remained trapped under rubble and on the roads, and the Israeli forces were “hindering ambulances and civil rescue teams from reaching them.”

Khan Younis is one of the hardest-hit areas, where Israel has imposed a siege on the main hospitals, Naser and al-Amal, for the last eight days.

Al-Qudra accused Israeli forces of “mass executions in Khan Younis, besieging its hospitals, and preventing the movement of ambulances to rescue the wounded.”

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported “intense shelling” near the al-Amal hospital, prompting the Israeli army to order evacuation from the area, including the medical center that houses thousands of patients and displaced people.

In Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes targeted residential houses, with medical sources indicating numerous casualties from bombardments against the Madoukh and al-Amawi families in the al-Sabra neighborhood south of the city.

The official Palestinian Wafa agency reported that three civilians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple homes in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Amid the overcrowded living conditions of evacuees in the strip, the health ministry has registered over 700,000 cases of infectious diseases and warned of the danger of famine. EFE
