Elvis Week 2021 – Commemorating the 44th Anniversary of the King’s Passing

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — On August 16, 1977, the world mourned the loss of one of the greatest exponents of American music, Elvis Presley. Today, his legacy is still very present, which is why Graceland is getting ready to welcome thousands of fans – who come from all over the world – in order to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the death of the King of Rock and Roll.
The grand event, known as “Elvis Week,” will be taking place from August 11 to August 17 at all Graceland facilities (The Graceland Mansion, Elvis Presley’s Memphis, The Guest House at Graceland, and The Graceland Exhibition Center). It will feature appearances by celebrities including Priscilla Presley and musicians, live concerts, “The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest,” conversations on Elvis, meet and greet opportunities, fan events, parties, movies, special bus excursions around Memphis and to Tupelo, and much more.
The famous Candlelight Vigil and the annual Elvis Presley 5K Run are also a fundamental piece of “Elvis Week.”
The Candlelight Vigil will start with the traditional opening ceremony on Sunday, August 15, at 8:30 PM at Graceland’s front gate, and will end at dawn the next day. This free event lasts all night and allows people to walk up the driveway to Elvis’ gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance.

VIRTUAL ELVIS WEEK 2021 – LIVE FROM GRACELAND!
For those fans who are unable to visit Memphis during “Elvis Week 2021,” Graceland is offering the chance to tune in to “Virtual Elvis Week 2021 – Live from Graceland” on August 11-17. You can celebrate the legacy of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll through an amazing, never before offered online experience with live concert events, incredible fan experiences, and conversations with special celebrity guests such as Priscilla Presley and James Burton, a 50th anniversary concert celebrating Elvis’ Nashville recording sessions, the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contests, Elvis in Concert on the big screen, and more.

Hoy día, su legado sigue estando muy presente, por lo que Graceland se prepara para recibir a miles de fans –que vienen de todas partes del mundo– con el fin de conmemorar el 44.º aniversario de la muerte del Rey del Rock and Roll.
El magno evento, conocido como “La Semana de Elvis”, se estará llevando a cabo del 11 al 17 de agosto en todas las instalaciones de Graceland (la Mansión de Graceland, Elvis Presley’s Memphis, el hotel The Guest House at Graceland y el Centro de Exhibiciones de Graceland). Contará con apariciones de celebridades como Priscilla Presley y varios músicos reconocidos, conciertos en vivo, la “Competencia de Artistas Homenaje a Elvis” (“The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest”), conversaciones sobre Elvis, eventos para los fans, películas, excursiones especiales en autobús por el área de Memphis y a Tupelo, fiestas y mucho más.
