Anita sells ‘jewelry made with one hand’ to afford bionic prosthetic

Valencia, Spain Oct 28 (EFE).- Ana María Ortiz was born without a left hand, but her family was never able to afford a bionic prosthetic, which can cost up to 60,000 euros.

Today, the 14-year-old girl from Valencia is creating and selling her own jewelry to be able to buy herself a new bionic hand.

The teenager, who goes by the name ‘Anita’, says that living with one hand is “very natural” to her, but would like a bionic prosthetic due to back pain and an uneven hip.

Anita sells her products on social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook and Instagram under the brand name ‘You are so beautiful’, inspired by her mother, who had a jewelry line before her daughter was born.

Anita’s brand of “jewels made with one hand” has over 7,700 followers on Instagram.

She says she didn’t expect to receive such empathy and positive feedback from the public since launching her business in September this year.

Anita has not kept track of how much money she has earned but says she will “give her all” to make the business a success. EFE
