Jesus signs for Arsenal

Sports Desk, Jul 4 (EFE).- Arsenal on Monday announced the signing of Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, who joins the London club after five seasons at Manchester City.

Jesus, a four-time Premier League winner with City, will wear the number 9 shirt for the Gunners.

The 25-year-old penned a long-term contract with Arsenal, according to a club statement.

His exit from City comes after the Premier League champions signed a new star striker Erling Haaland.

Jesus scored 95 goals in his 236 Man. City appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said in a slub statement: “I’m very excited. The club has done a tremendous job to recruit a player of this stature. I know Gabriel personally very well, and we all know him well from his time in the Premier League and being really successful here.”

The Spanish coach worked with Jesus as the assistant coach for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. EFE
