Pelosi’s husband attacked after break-in at San Francisco home

Washington, Oct 28 (EFE).- A man was arrested on Friday after allegedly breaking into the San Francisco home of the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, and attacking her husband, Paul.

In a statement, Pelosi’s spokesperson Drew Hammill, said that after break-in, the man “violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi”, who has been brought to hospital “where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Hammill added that Speaker Pelosi was not in her home during the alleged assault.

“The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” he said.

This is not the first time that Pelosi’s husband has made headlines; in August, he was involved in a car crash, later pleading guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol at a California court.

Pelosi, who is 82-years old, was given eight hours of community service, was ordered to pay roughly $7,000 in fines and was sentenced to three years of probation. EFE
