India inaugurates venue for G20 Summit in September

New Delhi, July 26 (EFE).- The Indian government unveiled the newly renovated venue in New Delhi, worth over $330 million, designated to host the G20 Heads of State summit in September.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a pre-opening “puja” (prayer meeting) at the site before the official opening in the afternoon.

Covering an area of nearly 500,000 square meters, the venue is equipped with multiple meeting rooms, lounges, auditoriums, an amphitheater, and a business center, making it suitable for a wide range of events.

The complex will be the venue for the upcoming G20 Heads of State meeting, scheduled for September 9 and 10, during India’s rotational presidency.

In a press release, the Prime Minister’s Office highlighted that its multi-purpose hall and plenary hall together can accommodate 7,000 people, surpassing the seating capacity of Australia’s famous Sydney Opera House.

The exhibition halls are designed to host various industries, showcasing products and services from around the world.

The statement described these state-of-the-art structures as a testament to modern engineering and architectural prowess.

The renovated multipurpose complex is expected to play a crucial role in promoting India as a global business destination and boosting the country’s trade and economic growth. EFE
