MLGW, Neighborhood Christian Center Help Seniors Beat the Heat
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/MLGW) — MLGW y el Neighborhood Christian Center se están uniendo para ayudar a las personas mayores de bajos ingresos a “Play It Cool” este verano.
Los dos grupos evaluarán las solicitudes para las unidades de aire acondicionado gratis. Para calificar, debe ser un residente del Condado de Shelby de bajos ingresos que tenga más de 60 años. Aquellos que son discapacitados legalmente también califican.

MEMPHIS, TN (MLGW) — MLGW and the Neighborhood Christian Center are teaming up to help low-income seniors “Play It Cool” this summer.
On Thursday the two groups will be screening applicants for free air conditioning units. To qualify, you must be a low- income Shelby County resident over the age of 60. Those who are legally disabled also qualify.
Applicants cannot have previously received an air conditioner through the program, must be living in a home without a working air conditioning unit and must be an MLGW customer.
The screenings begin at 9 a.m. at the Neighborhood Christian Center on Jackson Avenue.
The following will be needed when applying:
Tennessee State ID or Driver’s License to verify age and address.
The most recent pay stub or Social Security Income statement to verify income.
Most recent MLGW utility bill
If you have a physical disability but do not meet the age requirement you must bring the proper certification information.
