Trump teases ‘big announcement’ next week amid speculation of re-run

Washington, Nov 7 (EFE).- Former United States president Donald Trump teased Monday that he will make “a very big announcement” from his Florida residence next week, amid mounting speculation he will run for the leadership again in 2024.

“Not to detract from tomorrow’s very important – even critical – election, and I would say in the strongest way it’s a country-saving election … I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, November 15 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida,” he said at a midterm election rally in Ohio.

There had been speculation throughout the day that he would announce his candidacy on Monday, but that did not happen.

Trump was showing his support for Senate candidate JD Vance ahead of Tuesday’s elections that will renew a third of the Senate, all seats in the House of Representatives, the governments of 36 states, and state legislatures.

“This is the year we’re going to take back the House,” he said. “We’re going to take back the Senate. And we’re going to take back America. And in 2024, most importantly, we are going to take back our magnificent White House.”

Last week, Trump also hinted at another run, telling rallygoers in Iowa: “I will very, very, very probably do it again.”

The rightwing former leader dedicated a good part of his speech to touting polls that place him in a favorable position in some states, both in Republican Party primaries to elect a presidential candidate and in a hypothetical re-run of the 2020 election against President Joe Biden. EFE
