Part of Trump’s Florida club closed due to Covid-19

Miami, Mar 19 (EFE).- The Mar-a-Lago club, where former US President Donald Trump resides in Palm Beach, Florida, was partially closed due to Covid-19 infections among employees, according to an internal message to members.

Mar-a-Lago, where Trump has been put up since moving out of the White House in January, closed its Beach Club and dining room after undisclosed numbers of employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

However, the email sent to club members added that banquette and even services would remain open.

“As some of our staff have recently tested positive for COVID-19, we will be temporarily suspending service at the Beach Club and à la carte Dining Room,” the club management said.

It added that they were taking these precautionary measures in their areas affected by Covid-19 and would inform everyone when these services would resume.

According to the club, all appropriate response measures have already been taken in accordance with the guidelines of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including extensive disinfection and cleaning of affected areas and all facilities.

Trump, his wife Melania Trump, and his son Barron have been living in their mansion at Mar-a-Lago since leaving the White House in January after current President Joe Biden’s swearing-in.

All three of them suffered Covid-19 infection last year and have since recovered.

This is not the first time the private tourist club has been affected by the pandemic.

In April 2020, Mar-a-Lago – with a private beach, six tennis courts, one croquet court, golf course, gym and ballrooms – temporarily shut down to check the spread of the coronavirus, affecting some 150 workers. EFE
