Russia reports high-precision strikes on Kyiv, Mykolaiv

Moscow, Apr 16 (EFE).- The Russian military had destroyed targets in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Mykolaiv with high-precision missiles, the Russian defense ministry said on Saturday.

“Long-range precision weapons mounted on planes destroyed the ships of a tank factory in Kyiv and a heavy weapons repair shop in Mykolaiv,” defense spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said.

A total of 16 Ukrainian military facilities were destroyed overnight with high-precision missiles across the country, Konashenkov added in his daily report.

He added that in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, two missile depots were targeted.

The Russian artillery hit 811 targets, including 43 command posts of Ukrainian units, eight fuel convoys and 760 troop emplacement sites, he said.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reported that 1,982 civilians have been killed and 2,651 injured including children since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The OHCHR warned that actual figures could be significantly higher because data from areas where hostilities are registered usually arrive late, while several reports were still pending verification.

The body has been recording civilian casualties since Russia launched its full-scale attack on February 24.EFE
