Ukraine says Russian forces have food, ammunition for three days
Lviv, Ukraine, Mar 22 (EFE).- Russian forces that have invaded Ukraine only have ammunition and food for “no more than three days,” the Ukrainian defense ministry said Tuesday, on the 27th day of the invasion.
“According to the available information, Russian occupation forces operating on the territory of Ukraine have ammunition and food supplies for no more than three days. Similar is the situation with fuel, which is replenished by transporting tankers,” the ministry said in a post on its Facebook account.
The ministry said that Russia had been unable to establish a pipeline to meet the needs of its troops in the areas where they are operating.
It also explained that “significant changes in the position and character of the defense forces over the last day” had not been noted.
“Over 9 enemy air targets were affected by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Anti-Air Defense units in the previous day,” including 1 plane, 6 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and 2 helicopters, it added.
“More active enemy aviation actions have been noted in the last day,” according to the Ukrainian ministry’s report, which also said that acts of civil disobedience are taking place in the eastern Luhansk region, where “a large portion of the residents do not support the policy of the occupiers, have no desire to take (up) arms and hide from the representatives of the occupying authorities.” EFE
