OG sinks 3-pointer at the buzzer to save the day for Toronto Raptors

Sports Desk, Sep 4 (efe-epa).- Once again the Toronto Raptors had to rely on a miracle to avoid defeat against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinal playoffs and once again it delivered while in the Western Conference the Los Angeles Clippers started their semifinals with victory over the Denver Nuggets.

OG Anunoby beat the buzzer with a three-pointer to hand Toronto a 104-103 win over Boston in Game 3, clawing back one game in the best-of-seven series, which now stands at 2-1 in Boston’s favor.

Current NBA champions, Toronto was just half a second from falling into the abyss, two points down, two games down and only a miracle — the likes of which it pulled off last year against the Philadelphia 76ers — could save the team.

The chance fell to youngster Anunoby, 23, who kept his team alive with a three-pointer that sank as the buzzer called time.

Kyle Lowry led Toronto with 32 points, eight assists and six rebounds while Fred VanVleet scored 25 points and Pascal Siakam hit 16 and Anunoby 12.

For the Celtics, Kemba Walker scored 29, Jaylen Brown topped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Jayson Tatum lost the shine of recent performances — Boston has not lost in six games — scored 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

In the Western Conference the La Clippers dominated the entire game against Denver, taking it 120-97.

Kawhi Leonard scored 29 points and proved himself to be a veritable nightmare for Denver’s defense, which watched as the Clippers hit 57 percent of their shots.

Kawhi has now scored more than 20 points in 15 consecutive games for the Clippers.

Paul George racked up 19 points against Denver, Marcus Morris Sr. bagged 18 with five rebounds and two assists.
