John Stones extends Manchester City contract until 2026

Sports Desk, Aug 10 (EFE).- English defender John Stones extended his Manchester City contract through the 2025-2026 season, the Premier League champion announced on Tuesday.

The previous contract of the 27-year-old, who was part of the English national team that wrapped up the Euro 2020 as runner-up to Italy, would expire by the end of the 2021-2022 season.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Stones told the club’s website. “I love being part of this squad. There are so many quality players here and I know we can continue winning trophies, which is my main focus.”

“Working with the manager (Guardiola) is a dream – he has taught me so much about the game and I feel like I learn something new every single day,” he added.

Since joining Manchester City in 2016, on a transfer from Everton, Stones has played 168 games, helping the team win three Premier Leagues, two League Cups, one FA Cup and two Community Shields. EFE
