Three arrests over alleged racist incident in Spanish soccer stadium

Valencia, Spain, May 23 (EFE).- Spanish police arrested three young people aged 18 to 21 on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in racist insults toward Brazilian Real Madrid soccer striker Vinicius received Sunday in Valencia.

Police said in a brief statement that all the detainees are Spanish and have been charged with an alleged crime related to the exercise of fundamental rights and public liberties.

They added that the information on these arrests will be expanded at a later date.

Valencian community government delegate Pilar Bernabe said three of the alleged perpetrators had been identified, although they are still working on viewing videos from both inside and outside the Mestalla stadium where the incident occurred. EFE
