Ukraine says it shot down Russian plane, killed 820 enemy soldiers in one day

Kyiv, Oct 11 (EFE).- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday claimed to have killed 820 enemy soldiers, shot down a Russian Su-25 fighter plane and destroyed several air defense systems, 34 tanks, more than 90 armored and 18 artillery systems in the last 24 hours.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine also reportedly took down some 20 Russian military vehicles, 7 reconnaissance drones and an electronic communications station that was hit with missiles.

The latest report by the General Staff on Wednesday also described a situation on the front with hardly any changes compared to recent weeks.

Ukraine is carrying out offensive actions in the south of Bakhmut city (east) and in Zaporizhzhia province (south), while the Russian Army launched attacks in several areas of the front in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv provinces, all in eastern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, on the Kherson front (south), Ukraine has reportedly destroyed Russian military equipment and weapons with counter-battery fire.

Despite making no progress in recent weeks, Ukraine says it continues to inflict massive casualties in military personnel and assets among the Russian ranks. EFE
