Spanish duo light up Kazakh capital with flamenco concert

Astana, Nov 14 (EFE).- Guitarist Dani de Moron and percussionist David Chupete from Spain “set fire” Monday to the Kazakh capital, Astana, with a flamenco concert as part of the international music festival “Alem Saz”.

“Everywhere in the world the reactions are similar, but this one is more exciting because nobody comes here to do flamenco,” the guitarist told EFE at the end of the evening.

Dani de Moron, who was nominated for a Latin Grammy, performed for the Kazakh audience several compositions from his latest album “Creer para ver”.

The performance took place before a full house in the largest concert hall in the Central Asian republic’s capital.

De Moron was accompanied by percussionist David Chupete, who was delighted with his trip to the Central Asian republic.

“The audience is wonderful. The proof is that we have just finished and they don’t stop applauding. It’s a gift,” he said.

The festival, which kicked off last week, celebrated the Day of Spanish Music on Monday.

The festival is organized by the state concert company “Qazaqconcert” and the evening event was organized by the Spanish Embassy in Kazakhstan.EFE
