The Avengers set to land at Disneyland Resort in June

Los Angeles, US, Apr 8 (efe-epa).- An “Avengers Campus” will open at California’s Disneyland Resort on June 4, opening up a new land for Marvel superheroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Captain Marvel and Dr. Strange.

Avengers Campus was scheduled to open in July 2020, but the pandemic forced the facilities to close for more than a year and plans for Marvel characters were suspended until further notice.

The new attraction will finally be inaugurated in June as part of the strategy to reopen the complex on Apr. 30, Disneyland said Thursday in a statement.

“We are so excited to soon welcome our guests to Avengers Campus, the first land dedicated to Super Heroes at Disney California Adventure Park,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, which sits inside the park.

The land is dedicated to discovery, recruitment and training of the next generation of superheroes.

In March 2020, Efe visited the site with a small group of media to learn about the Avengers Campus project, which includes a Spider-Man attraction called Web Slingers.

There will also be a mystical sanctum with Dr. Strange and an epic fight at the Avengers headquarters.

Among the characters that visitors to Avengers Campus will be able to meet are Marvel idols such as Black Widow and Black Panther.

While Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure Park will reopen their doors on Apr. 30, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which is also part of the complex, will be operational a day earlier.

“Guests of all ages can find their powers and our cast members will unite to create these special moments and memories,” said Potrock.

The complex is one of the most important tourist attractions in California, a state that in recent weeks has been able to relax its Covid-19 restrictions.
