England thrash Ukraine 4-0 on Harry Kane’s brace

Sports Desk, Jul 3 (EFE).- Harry Kane scored twice to lead England 4-0 over Ukraine in Saturday’s Euro 2020 quarterfinal match at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

The Three Lions captain got the party started in the 4th minute, chipping the ball over Ukraine goalkeeper Heorhiy Bushchan. Harry Maguire headed-in a free kick two minutes into the second half for the 2-0 and Kane completed his double in the 50th minute.

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute, his first goal in 62 appearances for the national side.

Kane is sixth on the England all-time scoring list with 37 goals, just three fewer than Michael Owen, and eight of the Tottenham man’s goals have come in major tournaments.

England have yet to concede a goal in Euro 2020 and their five consecutive clean sheets are second only to Spain’s seven (across the 2012 and 2016 tournaments) in the history of the competition.

The Three Lions will face Denmark next Wednesday in the second semifinal at Wembley Stadium in London. EFE am-jap/dr
