MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — After a forced pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Mid-South Fair will have a “triumphant return” this year, according to its organizers. The scheduled dates for this great event are from September 23 to October 3, 2021, at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.

As announced in a press release, the public will be able to enjoy plenty of live entertainment and both traditional and new attractions. In addition, the fair has a diverse lineup of performers, including country music singer Sam Hunt (September 24).

“After a year like no other, we are ecstatic to be gearing up for the best Mid-South Fair yet,” said Todd Mastry, Landers Center executive director. “With more rides, the Sam Hunt concert on opening weekend and 30-40% more parking spots than in years past, we’re certain those who greatly missed the Fair last year will be more than eager to come out and enjoy all we have to offer in 2021.”

Fairgoers will have the opportunity to enjoy more than 50 rides (depending on height limitations), 10 of which are new. Three of these thrilling rides are among North American Midway Entertainment’s most popular ones: the “Skyhawk,” which allows brave riders to soar through the sky as it ascends to the top of a 100-foot tower; the “Crazy Mouse,” a family favorite ride that spins as it goes along a coaster track; and the “Tornado,” a swinging thriller that allows riders to control how fast they spin while airborne.

There will also be a petting zoo, pig races, camel rides, a beauty contest, a youth talent contest, a youth art contest, and a wide range of special acts, such as the Disc-Connected K9s World Famous Frisbee Dogs and the Sea Lion Splash show, an entertaining and informative presentation that showcases the relationship between rescued sea lions and their handlers.

Obviously, there will be other fair favorites such as funnel cakes, candied apples, corn dogs, etc.

And if that wasn’t enough, the Mid-South Fair will have a “Latino Day,” with live music, Latin food and much more. It will be held on Sunday, September 26, starting at 12 p.m. Some of the groups that will be performing are Los Rojos, Rafa Mercadante, Justin Sierreño, and Grupo Atardecer. “Latino Day” is presented by Radio Ambiente.

Tickets to see Sam Hunt are sold separately and start at $40.50. However, these tickets include admission to the fair and can be purchased at the Landers Center’s box office and at www.ticketmaster.com.

It should be noted that the Mid-South Fair is the oldest in the region – since 1856. For more information, visit https://www.landerscenter.com/mid-south-fair.
