The promising young wrestler who escaped war in Syria

Istanbul, Sep 21 (EFE).- Adnan Osman was only three years old when he and his family fled the war in Syria to Turkey.

Shortly after moving to the Turkish city of Gaziantep, the young boy found a passion for wrestling. His family later moved to Istanbul.

The 12-year-old has since won 15 medals in the past four years.

The ambitious young wrestler plans to win again as he trains for his upcoming match during a traditional oil wrestling festival in Istanbul.

“I want to win championships on behalf of Turkey,” Osman tells Efe, saying that he would like to grow up to be a great wrestler in the future.

Osman was born in a Kurdish village near the Syrian city of Aleppo.EFE
