New James Bond film to usher fans back into cinemas

Las Vegas, US, Aug 24 (EFE).- The upcoming James Bond film “No Time to Die” was the focus of MGM Studios’ presentation Tuesday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

As Sony did on Monday, MGM insisted that they back cinema premieres and assured that they are not contemplating hybrid theatrical and digital releases, as studios such as Disney and Warner Bros. have done.

The studio screened a long action sequence from “No Time to Die,” the film with which Daniel Craig says goodbye as Bond and which, after multiple delays, will be released in United States cinemas on Oct. 8.

“We know it’s been a long wait. Trust us, we felt it too. But the wait is nearly over,” said MGM Motion Picture Group chairman Michael De Luca.

In the preview shown exclusively at CinemaCon, and which has not yet been distributed online, Bond is seen trying to escape by car through the narrow streets of an Italian town.

Craig is accompanied by actress Lea Seydoux, who also appeared as Madeleine Swann in “Spectre” (2015).

The British agent is always a big draw for the public, but this time he comes with extra arsenal as, in addition to being Craig’s last film as Bond, Billie Eilish sings the theme song, Ana de Armas and Rami Malek appear in the cast and Cary Joji Fukunaga directs.

Although “No Time to Die” was the main focus of the event, MGM also dedicated time to “The Gucci House,” a luxurious Ridley Scott production starring Lady Gaga, which will hit US cinemas in late November.

The actress and singer will be surrounded by a sensational cast, including Adam Driver, Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto.

Finally, MGM gave new details of its other future assets, such as the animated film “The Addams Family 2”; the musical drama “Cyrano,” by Joe Wright and with a soundtrack by indie band The National; and the drama “Thirteen Lives” by Ron Howard, which tells the story of the 2018 Thailand cave rescue.
