Pandemic hits traditional Palestinian pottery business in the West Bank

Palestinian pottery workers throw and catch fresh burnt earthenware vases as they empty an oven at a traditional pottery factory in the West Bank city of Hebron, 24 March 2021.

Pottery is an ancient handcraft in the region and has been an industry in Hebron for many years.

It is the main income for many Palestinian families but as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in the last year, the production at pottery factories output has dropped by almost two-thirds.
