Thousands of Valencia fans stage protest against owner Peter Lim

Valencia, Spain, Dec 11 (EFE).- Thousands of Valencia fans on Saturday protested against the club’s owner, Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.

The demonstrations took place near the club’s Mestalla stadium in eastern Spanish city.

Lim became the major shareholder of the club in 2014.

Police sources estimated that some 15,000 people took part in the protests, which kicked off under the motto of “Per la dignitat del Valencia CF. Lim go home”, “For Valencia’s dignity. Lim go home.”

At the end of the protest, at the Mestalla gates, a manifesto was read on behalf of anonymous Valencia fans in Spanish, Valencian, Italian, French and English.

Sixteen games into the season, Valencia are ninth in LaLiga with 22 points, five shy of the European competition spots. EFE
