Tottenham’s CL hopes dented after 3-1 defeat to Leeds

Sports Desk, May 8 (EFE).- Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes for a top-4 finish was dealt a blow after a 3-1 away defeat to Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Stuart Dallas put Leeds ahead just 13 minutes into the game when a clumsy interception by Spurs defender Sergio Regulion came back off Hugo Lloris for the Northern Irish player to strike home.

Son Heung-min drew Tottenham level shortly before the half-hour mark, when he capitalized on a suburb through pass from Dele Alli.

Striker Harry Kane scored moments later only to have his attempt ruled offside by VAR.

Leeds regained the lead as a poorly-marked Patrick Bamford tapped in a low cross from Ezgjan Alioski two minutes before the break.

Super-sub Rodrigo Moreno rounded off the win on a close-range shot in the 84th minute, seven minutes after being sent onto the field.

After the defeat, Tottenham are sixth in the Premier League table with 56 points, five behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who will take on Manchester City later in the day. Leeds, meanwhile, are ninth with 50 points. EFE
