More glamour, more comedy as Emily in Paris returns to screens

Madrid, Dec 21 (EFE).- The romance of Paris and the fashion that adorns its streets is poised to return to our screens with the second season of Netflix’s Emily in Paris, which this time will involve more diversity, comedy and, of course, more glamour, its star Lily Collins tells Efe.

Unlike the first season, in which Emily Cooper (Collins) dives headlong into culture shock as she grapples with language barriers and is made to feel like a fish out of water, the upcoming season, which launches Wednesday, delves deeper into Paris and the show’s characters.

Emily has since settled down, she speaks more French and explores more of Paris, which in turn sees her friend group swell, Collins tells Efe in an interview. This combination, she says, lends itself to more comical situations.

Having found herself in a love triangle with her neighbor Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and her French friend Camille (Camille Razat), the second season follows Emily as she focuses more on her work for marketing company Savoir, gaining the confidence and respect of her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).

Her steadfast friend Mindy (Ashley Park) is now her flatmate in the new season and another character, Alfie (Lucien Lavicount), a British expatriate in Paris, enters the stage.

Having met him in a French class, Alfie intrigues and infuriates Emily at the same time.

Razat tells Efe: “I think that season 2 of Emily in Paris, there is much drama to it, much more storyline besides Emily-line, it’s great that we can see Sylvie evolve a little bit more, Mindy and Camille’s character. And you have this new character that I love, which is Alfie.

“And it’s very much more like a group series than the first season, and you get to know the characters a little bit more.” EFE
