Para Trinity Rodman, nuestra homenajeada esta semana en Bellas y Atletas, el deporte, la competitividad y el talento se lleva en la sangre, siendo hija del jugador profesional de baloncesto Dennis Rodman. A diferencia de su padre, Trinity eligió el fútbol profesional, pero igualmente mantiene todas las habilidades.
A los 18 años, Rodman se convirtió en la jugadora más joven en ser seleccionada en la historia de la NWSL cuando los Washington Spirit la seleccionaron como su primera selección en el Draft Universitario de la NWSL del 2021. For Trinity Rodman, our honoree this week in Bellas y Atletas, determination, competitiveness and talent are in her blood, being the daughter of professional basketball player Dennis Rodman. Unlike her father, Trinity chose professional football, but she still has all the skills.
At age 18, Rodman became the youngest player to be drafted in NWSL history when the Washington Spirit selected her as their first draft pick (second overall) at the 2021 NWSL College Draft. That season, Rodman was the Spirit’s second-highest scorer with seven goals, also helping the team win their first NWSL Championship.
Rodman has also represented the United States national team, she made her senior debut during the 2022 SheBelieves Cup. In 2023 she was named to the U.S. squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and this year she was called up to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
