Washington, Nov 15 (efe-epa).- The outgoing United States President Donald Trump on Sunday appeared to acknowledge the victory of his Democratic Party rival Joe Biden in the election earlier this month but repeated unsubstantiated claims of electoral fraud.
Trump has declined to concede the 3 November presidential elections, which have been called in favor of Biden by US media.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Trump said: “He won because the Election was Rigged. NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation and bum equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!”
The message was flagged by the social media site as disputed.
The president shared a clip from conservative Fox News pundit Jesse Watters, who also alleged election fraud, although provided no proof.
Trump later tweeted: “He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!”
Trump has taken his battle to the justice system. On Friday two Pennsylvania courts dismissed a total of six suits filed by Trump’s campaign team.
In his tweet, Trump echoed an unfounded theory promoted by conspiracy group QAnon, which claims that Dominion Voting Systems, which manufacturers vote-counting machines, was linked to electoral fraud.
Trump previously made mention of the conspiracy theory on Thursday, sharing a link to a story published on the far-right site One America News Network that claimed millions of votes in Trump’s favor had been wiped off the ballot.
Non-governmental organization Advance Democracy, which tracks disinformation online, found on 5 November that one in seven tweets using the hashtag Dominion were linked to QAnon accounts.
