Fernandinho to leave Manchester City by season’s end

London, Apr 12 (EFE).- Fernandinho on Tuesday announced he would leave Manchester City by the end of the season, ending a spell that began in 2013.

The Brazilian midfielder said that he will not extend his City contract, which expires on 30 June, and that he would return to Brazil.

“I want to play. I will go back to Brazil for sure, yes,” Fernandinho, who turns 37 in May, said.

“I’m not playing much but I try to help wherever I can. Sometimes off the pitch and sometimes on,” he added at a presser on the eve of the Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Atletico Madrid.

“I decided with my family. That is the most important [thing] to me,” he added.

With City, Fernandinho has won four Premier Leagues, six League Cups and one FA Cup. EFE
