Uefa bans Kúdela for 10 matches for ‘racist behaviour’

Madrid, Apr 14 (EFE).- Uefa’s ethics committee on Wednesday handed Slavia Praha player Ondrej Kúdela a 10-match ban for “racist behaviour” toward Rangers opponent Glen Kamara.

Finland international Kamara was issued a three-match ban for assaulting Kúdela in the stadium tunnel following the racist abuse during the Europa League round-of-16 match in March.

Kamara, who is black, accused Kúdela of insulting him with a racist slur while he covered his mouth, which led to an altercation between the players.

Slavia Praha denied their player had been racist while Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said he stood by Kamara.

Kúdela will miss the next nine matches, having already sat out the game against Arsenal in the quarter-finals last week as a provisional measure. EFE
