London, Feb 1 (efe-epa).- British health authorities said Monday that seniors in more than 10,000 nursing homes have been offered the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccines.
The National Health Service (NHS) have set a target of vaccinating 15 million people by February 15.
On Saturday, 598,389 people were vaccinated across the UK, a record number for a single day since the country began its immunization plan on December 8, 2020.
To date, nearly nine million people have been vaccinated in the country and the government is confident that it will be able to vaccinate the entire adult population by September.
The United Kingdom has already exceeded 100,000 deaths since the beginning of the crisis a year ago, and is the country with the highest number of fatalities per million inhabitants. EFE-EPA
