Ukraine edge past North Macedonia with 2-1 victory

Bucharest, Jun 17 (EFE).- Ukraine kept their last-16 hopes alive with a close-fought 2-1 victory over North Macedonia in Euro 2020’s Group C on Thursday.

Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk gave Ukraine the advantage before half-time.

North Macedonia’s Ezgjan Alioski, who plies his club trade with Leeds United, notched one back in the second half.

North Macedonia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski stopped a penalty to prevent the Ukrainians adding to the score sheet at the National Arena in Bucharest.EFE
