Ukraine winger Mudryk pens long-term Chelsea contract

Sports Desk, Jan 15 (EFE).- Chelsea FC on Sunday confirmed the signing of Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk on a deal that would keep him at the London club for eight and a half years.

Chelsea confirmed the transfer in a statement.

“‘I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea,’ Mudryk, 22, said of the move.

“This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new teammates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff.”

Mudryk had been closely linked with a move to Chelsea’s rivals and current Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The deal cost Chelsea an estimated 100 million euros, British media reported.

Mudryk bagged two goals and seven assists for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian league last year. EFE
