UK’s Prince Philip taken to hospital as ‘precautionary measure’

London, Feb 17 (EFE).- The United Kingdom’s Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, has been admitted to hospital as a “precautionary measure” after a few days of feeling unwell, Buckingham Palace confirmed Wednesday.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, will remain at the King Edward VII Hospital in London for “observation and rest” for a few days, a statement from the Palace said.

UK media reported that his illness was not coronavirus related and that he was not taken to the hospital by ambulance but rather in a private car.

Philip retired from public duties in 2017. EFE
