Klopp on facing Real Madrid: I don’t believe in revenge

Liverpool, England, May 25 (EFE).- Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp said Wednesday that he was not seeking revenge against Real Madrid in the Champions League final this weekend after his team lost to the Spanish powerhouse in 2018.

The German head coach spoke at a press conference ahead of the clash of the titans final in Paris on Saturday.

Klopp said the previous final between the two teams was a “harsh night for us, it was really tough to take, the circumstances, the way we conceded the goal, the injury to Mo (Salah).”

“That was the story of that Champions League year, and I don’t believe in revenge (…) in Germany we say, ‘you always meet twice in life’,” he added.

Speaking at the same press conference, Liverpool’s star player Mohamed Salah described his injury in the 2018 final in Kyiv as “the worst moment” of his career although added that the Reds’ victorious European campaign the following year was a kind of “revenge.”

This year’s Champions League final will take place at Paris’ Stade de France. EFE
