Two Palestinians killed during Israeli raids in northern West Bank
Jerusalem, Apr 14 (EFE).- Two Palestinians died in the occupied West Bank on Thursday during operations by Israeli armed forces amid a rise in tension in the region, where another three Palestinians were killed the previous day, the Palestinian health ministry announced.
The ministry said that two young people had died in an Israeli attack in Jenin in the northern West Bank.
It added that several people sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to hospital to receive medical attention.
The incidents occurred in Al-Yamun and Kafr Dan, two towns near Jenin, official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
For its part, the Israeli army said that it continued to carry out counterterrorist operations in the last few hours.
In recent days, Israeli raids have sparked a series of armed clashes, several of which have resulted in the death of Palestinians, in addition to dozens of arrests.
On Wednesday, a 34-year-old Palestinian lawyer was killed when Israeli troops raided the city of Nablus.
Later in the day, another 20-year-old was shot dead by the Israeli armed forces during a raid, and shortly before that, a 14-year-old boy was shot dead by the Israeli army.
In the last few days, the Israeli armed forces have been conducting raids in different parts of the West Bank, especially in the city of Jenin and the surrounding area.
The assailants behind two of four attacks in Israel in the last three weeks claiming 14 lives are believed to be from these areas. EFE
