Local Nurse Travels Around the World Healing Communities
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — Hay ángeles sin alas que viven para servir al prójimo y para ello viajan por todo el mundo.
Un grupo de estas personas pertenecen a la organización mundial Mercy Ships, quienes utilizando embarcaciones de gran tamaño llevan alivio a muchas comunidades que necesitan ayuda.
Mercy Ships cuenta con 400 voluntarios de 40 naciones. Hay cirujanos, enfermeras, médicos, dentistas, cocineros, plomeros, profesionales de TI y recursos humanos, escritores, fotógrafos, profesionales marítimos y más que donan su tiempo para proporcionar cirugías gratuitas para pacientes.
Una heroína local es la colombiana Viviana Salinas Acevedo, quien trabaja en el Hospital Infantil St. Jude, pero actualmente trabaja como voluntaria con Mercy Ships en el barco-hospital Africa Mercy, donde proporciona sus conocimientos y servicios para ayudar en Guinea, África del Oeste.
Sus valiosos cuidados con los niños en St. Jude han servido también para luchar contra el cáncer y otras enfermedades que amenazan a pacientes infantiles en el país africano el cual es visitado por Mercy Ships.

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — There are angels without wings that live to serve their neighbors and for that they travel all over the world.
A group of these people belong to the world organization Mercy Ships, who using large boats bring relief to many communities that need help.
Mercy Ships has 400 volunteers from 40 nations. There are surgeons, nurses, doctors, dentists, chefs, plumbers, IT professionals and human resources, writers, photographers, maritime professionals and more who donate their time to provide free surgeries for patients.
A local hero is the colombian Viviana Salinas Acevedo, who works at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, but currently works as a volunteer with Mercy Ships in the Africa Mercy hospital ship, where she provides her knowledge and services to help in Guinea, West Africa. .
Their valuable care with children at St. Jude has also served to fight against cancer and other diseases that threaten children in the African country which is visited by Mercy Ships.
