Kyiv intercepts a dozen drones in third consecutive overnight attack

Kyiv, Jul 13 (EFE).- Kyiv’s air defenses shot down about a dozen Shahed drones overnight, with the debris falling across the capital and damaging residential buildings, while two young people were injured.

“For the third day in a row, Kyiv was attacked by Shahed barrage ammunition … there was a massive attack by Iranian drones,” Kyiv City Military Administration Head Serhii Popko wrote on Telegram.

“Unmanned aerial vehicles entered the capital from different directions,” he added.

The drones were all shot down by Ukrainian air defenses but falling debris was recorded in five districts of the capital and caused damage to residential buildings.

A 19-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man were injured and hospitalized, Popko said.

The interceptions set off loud explosions that were heard in central Kyiv just before 2am.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, its air defenses shot down a total of 20 Iranian-made Shahed drones and two Kalibr cruise missiles throughout the country overnight. EFE
