Valentino Rossi pulls curtain down on motorcycling career

Cheste, Spain, Nov 14 (EFE).- After 432 Grand Prix and 26 seasons, nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Champion, Italian Valentino Rossi, is putting an end to his successful sporting career at Sunday’s finale in Valencia.

The 42-year-old is the most successful of his generation and has captivated motorcycling fans of the five continents who, long before his retirement, already considered him a legend.

Rossi debuted in 1996 in the World Championship.

His 115 victories and 235 podiums in total, are a baggage of trophees within reach of very few riders.

He is the only rider in history to have won 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP.

Fans will remember Rossi not only for his victories but his colorful celebrations, which since 1996 became a mark.

His adventures and ‘madness’ did not go unnoticed, but he knew how to back them up with results including the 500 world title, the first of a long list, in 2001.

One of the greatest in the history of world motorcycling, Rossi takes a step aside so that young people can try to write a sporting career as brilliant and successful as that of Valentino Rossi, the greatest “Il Dottore”. EFE
