¿Has querido ver un cuchillo a mil grados cortar diferentes cosas?

ENGLISH:

Have you ever wanted to see a 1000 degree knife cut through things? Recently, these “1000 degree knife” videos have gone viral on YouTube. The knife itself is heated up with a blowtorch, until it glows red-white, and then is used to cut through different things. Don’t try this at home!

Most popular currently are videos of the knife cutting through paper, bars of soap, and soft drink bottles. The hot knife cuts through different objects not only with ease, but even burns the objects or even lights them on fire. When the hot knife meets the bar of soap, it melts the soap, creating a form of wax, and emits a loud sound, much like a whine. Though it may seem trivial, you can easily spend the better part of an hour perfectly entertained by watching these knife videos.

These “1000 degree knife” videos may seem completely random, but they’re a result of increasingly accessible science and technology videos on the internet. There are hundreds of novelty YouTube channels about science and technology, such as the Hydraulic Press channel, where different objects are crushed by tremendous amounts of force, or the primitive technology channel, where one man makes handmade tech such as axes and huts. The internet has made science/tech videos such as the 1000 degree knife videos much more accessible and popular.
