James Rodríguez joins Qatar’s Al Rayyan from Everton

Sports Desk, Sep 22 (EFE).- Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez joined Qatar’s Al Rayyan on a transfer from Everton, both clubs announced on Wednesday.

“James Rodriguez has left Everton to sign for Qatari club Al Rayyan for an undisclosed fee,” the Premier League club posted to their Twitter account without providing further details.

The 30-year-old changed colors after a 12-month spell with the Toffees in which he played 26 matches last season scoring three goals, but has not taken the field this campaign.

Joining the Qatari club, the Colombian ends his European adventure that began in 2010, when he left Banfield for Porto.

After spending three years in Portugal, he left for Monaco and then he played for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Everton.

The 80-time capped excelled at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where he was the top scorer with six goals and two assists, drawing the attention of Europe’s major clubs to end up at Real Madrid coming from Monaco. EFE
