Having a university degree makes a big difference when it is a question of employment and wages. The percentage of unemployment is lower with a university title and the university graduates gain a salary higher than those without a university education. A study by The American Journal of Public Health states that people with a university education have better health than the people without university titles.

The FinAid.org statistics indicate that the people with a university education have only 2.5 percentage of unemployment in the United States, while a person with only a diploma of preparatory has 5.7 percentage of unemployment. A higher education not only prepares one to find work but also it gives one flexibility to be able to change careers and location.

Furthermore, the average salary of a person without a university education is only 678 dollars weekly, while the average with college education is 1,227 dollars weekly. For companies, a university certificate means more experience and they are willing to pay more. The statistics of the Bureau of Work Statistics indicate that a person can earn more than one million dollars in their lifetime compared to someone without a diploma.

In addition, research demonstrates that adults with a university education have better health. For example, they tend to smoke less, watch their weight and have medical access. Many companies offer health insurance, which is a big advantage to maintaining a good health. 63 percent of university postgraduates report exercising 2 to 3 times per week.

A university education opens many doors not only economically but also for one’s health. It helps find work faster, have a higher salary for a better life and finally it helps maintain a health necessary for a longer and happier life.
