Free COVID-19 Tests for the Hispanic Community in Memphis
Pruebas de COVID-19 gratis para la comunidad hispana de Memphis
In an effort to increase outreach in the Hispanic community regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shelby County Health Department, in association with community partners Latino Memphis, Catholic Church of the Ascension (Iglesia Ascension) and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, is offering free COVID-19 walk-up testing this Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, 2020.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Where: Iglesia Ascencion | 3680 Ramill Rd., Memphis, TN 38128 | Testing will be in the gym.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Where: Sacred Heart | 1324 Jefferson Ave., Memphis, TN 38103| Testing will be in basement.
The testing is free and available to anyone, age 13 and older, while testing supplies last. Spanish interpretation will be available at both locations throughout the testing events.
Each person tested will be asked to provide an address and two telephone numbers, so that they can be contacted within two to three days with the test results.
Testing will be available to those who are asymptomatic and those who have symptoms.
Note: no personal information will be shared with government agencies outside of the Shelby County Health Department and the Tennessee Department of Health.
Free reusable masks will be provided to everyone who is tested.

Las estadísticas más recientes indican que el treinta y cuatro por ciento (34%) de los casos positivos por el coronavirus provienen de la comunidad latina. Por tal razón, tanto la Iglesia de la Ascensión como la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón se han coordinado con el Departamento de Salud del Contado de Shelby para ofrecer a los miembros de dicha comunidad la oportunidad de hacerse la prueba de detección del coronavirus, totalmente GRATIS.
Toda persona de 13 años de edad en adelante que desee hacerse la prueba, podrá hacerlo sin costo alguno. No es necesario tener síntomas.
Habrá espacios únicamente para 25 personas cada hora, en el horario señalado. Se asegura que la información proporcionada será totalmente CONFIDENCIAL, por lo que no se compartirá con nadie.
Este servicio se proporciona en favor de la salud individual, de la familia y de la comunidad latina en la ciudad de Memphis.
