Von Bredow-Werndl wins European Dressage Championship freestyle event

Madrid, Sep 11 (EFE).- German rider Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl continued her domination at the European Dressage Championship in Hagen, Germany on Saturday, chalking up her third gold with a victory in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Von Bredow-Werndl, 35, riding TSF Dalera BB the previous day won gold in the individual special dressage, while on Wednesday the pair helped Germany bring home the gold in team competition.

Von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB dominated the field Saturday with a score of 91.021%.

Cathrine Dufour of Denmark and Bohemian won silver with a score of 88.436%, while the British rider Charlotte Dujardin with Gio took home bronze with a score of 87.246%.

Coming in fourth with 84.896% was German legend Isabell Werth riding Weihegold Old, as her main horse, Bella Rose, is still recovering from an illness.

In its 58-year-long history, the European Team Dressage Championship has been dominated by Germany, which has 25 wins out of 29, with an incredible streak from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century. EFE
